Updated 22 October 2026. 1234File is an early beta operated by the owner of this site.
Files stay in your browser
PDFs and photos are processed on your device using JavaScript, PDF.js, pdf-lib, and the browser’s image tools. 1234File does not upload file bytes, file names, or generated documents to its backend. Results are held in memory until you clear them or close the tab. Your browser manages saved downloads.
Document tools
The six DOCX/XLSX/PPTX/PDF converters also run in your browser. Office-to-PDF downloads an open-source processor of about 19 MB on first use. Browser caching may retain the processor, not your document. Document contents and file names are not sent to our backend or a third-party conversion service. The conversion workspace holds generated files in memory and releases its download links when the page closes. Your browser and document app manage copies you choose to save.
Simple usage counts
We send the tool name and a fixed event label when processing starts, succeeds or fails, when a download is requested, and when you voluntarily confirm whether a saved file opened. We also count ZIP and preset actions. These aggregate daily counts contain no file details, error text, account identifier, or advertising identifier. They measure actions, not unique people. A download click does not prove a file was saved.
Messages and beta signups
If you submit a form, we store the message or goal, optional support email or required signup email, your Plus interest choice, consent time, and submission time. The owner can read these in a private dashboard and delete them. We retain submissions until resolved or you ask for deletion; no automated retention schedule is in place. Beta signup does not start a paid subscription or send an automatic email. Contact us through the support form for access or deletion requests. Include the email or ticket reference so we can locate your submission.
Hosting, abuse prevention, and fonts
Our hosting provider handles normal network requests and may process IP addresses and technical logs. To limit automated submissions, the backend temporarily stores a keyed, rotating hash derived from an IP address, with request counts; it does not store the IP address itself in our database. Expired rate-limit records are removed as requests arrive. Google Fonts receives your IP address and normal request metadata when fonts load. 1234File uses no advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
Optional local presets and sign-in
Presets store tool settings and your chosen preset name in this browser’s local storage. They do not store your files. You can remove them from the tools page. Free file tools require no account. Optional owner and sandbox billing pages use Sign in with ChatGPT; the backend receives a site-specific account ID and email for access control and subscription association.
Sandbox billing
Billing is currently a Stripe sandbox for owner testing. Stripe hosts checkout and the customer portal. Do not enter real card details in a test checkout. Stripe processes test billing information under its policies. 1234File stores sandbox subscription identifiers, status, paid-through time, and the associated site account ID. No live paid plan is enabled.
